HANG, FOLD, TIE, ARCHIVE
There are many ways of archiving, collecting and organising. These first images are the result of a collaboration between the work of Jeanne Tresvaux du Fraval and the images created by Jessica Pichet and Charlotte Robin.
The collection of pieces developed by Jeanne Tresvaux du Fraval as part of a residency at Villa Belleville comprises around fifty pieces using a variety of techniques and materials: textiles, paper and ceramics. The modular devices and folds are fitted with a hanging system - the hook, the eyelet, the handle - as if the archive had a function of use. Each storage and protection system (bags, luggage, envelopes, clothes, etc.) can be displayed and used in different ways, suspended in the space, hung on a hook along a wall, stored in a box, etc.
Each piece can be activated by this image. The photographic system refers to archival objects in stages: the packaged object; the object archived in space; the object in use. This functional photography adds a note of humour to the over-functionality of the objects.
